Manvers Street Office

EFFECT: WAVE 3D PANELS

LOCATION: CITY CENTRE, BATH, UK

DESIGN: STRIDE TREGLOWN ARCHITECTURE

Requirements: A team at Stride Treglown Architects approached us to help them provide a 3D wall effect for a large refurbishment project in Bath city centre. This was for a commercial design – an office lobby area in one of the best-situated buildings at Manvers Street. The architects were keen to give visitors to the office complex a ‘sense of arrival’ when entering the building. This was to be in the form of an eye-catching feature wall. It was to be immediately mesmerising, but also – on a practical level – it had to be in line with industry standards when it came to fire-retardant materials. The overall construction was being undertaken by industry leader Kier Construction.

Product: We provided our Wave 3d panels for the feature wall. When attached in a seamless manner, these gypsum panels provide a stunning ongoing ripple design. Once applied they were painted in white flame-retardant Dulux paint.

Results: The waves are on the ‘welcome wall’ opposite the door of the building so are the first thing any visitor sees when entering and approaching the reception desk. At the same time, the smooth, seamless design is also visible to any passer-by, thanks to the fact the ground floor front of the building comprises floor to ceiling glass. The Wave 3D panels feature wall provide a contemporary and smart look to this award-nominated refurbished interior. Shortly after the refurbishment the property was marketed – and let – at the top end of the market.
