Minimalist Interior Design was born in contemporary art in the 1960s, and it has changed its face during the years, but the assumptions remained the same – the creators tried to limit the form as much as possible.
In the minimalist style, all elements of the decor have an uncomplicated form, which is primarily related to utility. Furniture and home appliances are always simple, without ornaments or exuberant style. They are in the same style, elegant, but the form of the furniture itself is often unusual. Interestingly, the construction of furniture, sofas or armchairs, is often limited to the necessary minimum but in extravagant form.
SIMPLE COLORS
Minimalism is based primarily on two colors – black and white. This classic color duo is the styling basis, but it is not an absolute rule. White color is often dominated in minimalistic interiors, which guarantees bright and illuminated spaces. Black is reserved for accessories and details – accent walls, lamps, furniture, and other decorative elements. Wood, for example, is used to insulate this cool combination, which makes minimalist interiors cozier.
However, if you are fed up with the ubiquitous white, you can also afford other colors in minimalist interiors. Minimalism in the “warmer” version will be based on beige or, in a more industrial version – gray. However, in the classic edition, the arrangement of minimalist interiors is a game of black and white.
WHO WILL LIKE IT
Minimalist Interior Design style can naturally have different faces and suit different people, lifestyles. Minimalism does not have to give up any decorations, other colors, and additional decor elements. This is only a trend – you can freely juggle with interior inspirations and if you dream of a light interior, not overwhelmed by an excess of accessories, you can still afford some decorations.
Minimalism is certainly not a style for everyone. It is certainly far from the coziness of rustic rooms or the warmth of the Provencal style. However, there is no point in demonizing minimalism, apart from cool elegance, it fits perfectly into the idea of slow life, without the mess and unnecessary elements. What is it all about? For moderation and simplicity, limit the number of possessions and accessories from our interiors. For minimalism allows you to achieve inner harmony and peace.
