Design: Love IG Interiors
Requirements: We were asked to help with the interior design for a new branch in Sidcup of a contemporary industrial-style hairdressing salon. The style for The Hair Movement Salon had to be a look which wouldn’t date quickly and, at the same time, prove robust enough to cope with the water, hot air, chemicals etc involved in day-to-day life in a hairdressing salon.
Products: Industrial design means using basic, natural and ‘chunky’ materials such as raw metals, wood, micro-cement, canvas and rope etc. Gypsum 3D geometrical panels are a key feature of this design and provide a strong backdrop. Other interior additions include wooden room dividers, blackened steel pipes and acoustic ceiling panels. The 3D gypsum panels are white and blend in beautifully with the grey concrete and black wall. The loft furniture -a reception desk and colour bar – is coated with white and grey micro-cement to give it a raw look.
Results: The result was a very contemporary industrial style hairdressers with a grey and white colour scheme, mixed with black and brown wood accents. LED lighting set off the light 3D cube panels beautifully and added a warmth to the wood and concrete desks beneath the large mirrors in the cutting area of the salon.
