Project: Brick Wall Tiles, Alpha FX Office, London Paddington, UK
Requirement:
A leading commercial fit-out company Modus asked us to help with wall coverings for a smart, contemporary and dynamic-looking interior design for a financial firm in the capital. Alpha Fx were located at the smart Brunel Building in Paddington, London. Their clients are wealthy, international companies so the design and interior products for Alpha Fx had to be upmarket and sophisticated.
Product:
Our client opted for more than 80 sqm of precast Boston brick wall tiles for an industrial look. The gypsum tiles were installed and then created black on-site. The particular shade of black was colour-matched with the existing black walls using the Natural Colour System (NCS) pallet. In addition to the black brick gypsum tiles in the boardroom, we also produced concrete pre-cast panels for the restaurant and corridor walls. That, in turn, proved a perfect match for the existing shuttering concrete already in the interior. Boston brick tiles are a splendid solution for a large brick wall project, they do not require grouting what’s make them very easy and quick in the fitting. This solution can really save contractors time and a lot of investors’ money.
Results:
The vertical grey concrete precast panels and the black brick tiles both add to the industrial design interior theme of the Alpha Fx building. It gives the interior a ‘tough’ ‘no-nonsense and solid’ look – which is exactly what clients dealing with such large sums of money need. It can also be described as New York Loft Style. Other natural materials involved in the design are wood and leather. Overall there isn’t much colour in the design, which tends to a masculine look, but large windows let in plenty of light.
